"The world breaks everyone, and afterwards many are strong in the broken places". -Ernest Hemingway-
Paige understands through personal loss and struggles, the realness of living in a broken world. However, she also has
experienced the internal transformation of hope, courage, and wholeness. Paige believes in meeting others where they
are and walking beside them, especially when challenges, struggles, or lack of hope hinder our ability to live life to the
fullest. She desires for others to not only know the truth, but believe the truth in all situations by allowing the heart and
mind to work together. As a therapist, Paige makes every effort to create a genuine, safe, non-judgmental, relationship
with others. Paige has great respect for her clients and their courage to search for change and growth surrounding difficult
and challenging times in their life, regardless of their spiritual or religious beliefs.
Paige is a Licensed Professional Counselor, who is also trained in EMDR (Eye-Movement Desensitization and
Reprocessing), Neurofeedback, Play Therapy, and is an Advanced Level Splankna Practitioner (mind, body, spirit, work).
Paige works with all ages helping individuals and families with issues relating to anxiety/stress, depression, grief and loss,
PTSD/trauma, self worth and self esteem, abuse, ADD/ADHD, various sleep disorders, headaches, brain injuries, conduct
disorders, peak performance, anger management, cutting, eating disorders, and unhealthy or broken relationships. It
is also not unusual for Paige to use unique and creative modalities to assist in healing, such as art, play, music, poetry,
psychodrama, symbolism and metaphors.
She worked several years as a youth minister while attending seminary, spent 6 years as a teacher and counselor in the
public school system, counseled abused women in a hidden shelter, and was appointed to advocate in court for children
who had been abused, neglected, or abandoned. Before joining Tall Oak Counseling, she traveled to the least-reached
people of the world in numerous countries sharing love and compassion to those affected by persecution, abuse, and
suffering.
SPLANKNA therapy offers a Christian focus for Mind-Body-Spirit work developed from an integration of Neuro-Emotional
Technique, Thought Field Therapy, EMDR, and spiritual warfare. The subconscious mind has all of one's life experiences.
Emotions from painful life experiences seem to be stored in the body. Current life experiences can “trigger” an older stored
trauma and re-activate the old emotional content creating some form of overreaction. The body is capable of resolving or
releasing these stored emotional charges so that the “fuel” behind a symptom is no longer present. Every effort is made to
resolve the symptom from all angles, Physically, Emotionally and Spiritually. (splankna.com)
EMDR is an information processing therapy and uses an eight phase approach to address issues. It looks at past
experiences that have set the groundwork for current situations that trigger dysfunctional emotions, beliefs and
sensations, and the positive experience needed to enhance future adaptive behaviors and mental health. (emdr.com)
NEUROFEEDBACK is also called EEG Biofeedback, because it is based on electrical brain activity. It is a technique in
which we train the brain to help improve its ability to take care of itself. When the brain is not functioning well, evidence of
this often shows up in the EEG. By challenging the brain, much as you challenge your body in physical exercise, we can
help your brain learn to function better. It is a painless, non-invasive procedure. Brain waves are monitored while the
trainee plays a video game with his brain. We observe the brain in action from moment to moment. We reward the brain for
changing its own activity to more appropriate patterns. Neurofeedback helps with anxiety, depression, ADD/ADHD, various
sleep disorders, headaches/migraines, conduct disorder, peak performance, and anger management.
